It’s that time of the year again. The air is filling with the warm odor malt and the heady notes of barley. Brewmasters from near and far are converging on our great city...
That’s right, folks. It’s once again time for Philly Beer Week!
Starting in 2008, Beer Week is a 10 day festival of the art and science of making beer. When it first began, 50 local bars and restaurants were involved. Today, that number has expanded to well over 250 and inspired well over 100 imitators. Simply put, the city has become synonymous with the emerging craft beer scene.
The Opening Tap of this year’s beer week is at the Fillmore in Fishtown an area the team knows like the back of our hand. And that’s just the beginning. other parts of the city are hosting their own highlights. Lucky's Last Chance (great name, right?) of Manayunk is hosting Cupcakes and Beer. Bar-Ly in Chinatown is promoting a mix of cultures with European beers and Asian food an drink pairings.
Philadelphia has a rich brewing history. We’ve been doing it for over 300 years. One of the oldest pubs in the country, McGillin’s, has been in continuous operation since 1860 and is located right in Center City, one of our most popular locations for clients and residents.
Each successive generation of brewers is making finer and finer crafts and represent the finest in American brewing. Almost 50 breweries are competing this year and they hail from all over the city; such as Dock Street in University City and Yard’s, located right in Olde City.
One of the reasons we’re particularly excited at Invest Philly is that, anywhere you find yourself in Philadelphia, our dedicated team represents homes and properties so that you’ll never be far from the fun and action.
